The 10-minute challenge.

Imagine if you could spend 10 minutes working on something that could give you the winning Lotto numbers for the upcoming draw.  It sounds too good to be true, right?

What if I told you this was possible?  Well, maybe not with Lotto numbers, but something equally valuable.   I know this might sound like a flight of fantasy, or worse still, some new improved Snake Oil.  Don’t worry, this isn’t some sort of click-bait to my YouTube channel where you will learn about this weeks “Experts don’t want you to know this secret”.   What I am suggesting requires no signing up, no talking to anyone, and you probably won’t have to leave your desk.  Hear me out.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has been making waves for a while now, and for good reason. It's known for improving work quality, speeding up administrative processes, and most importantly, reducing costs.

So, what exactly is RPA? For now, don't worry too much about the technical details. Just think of it as a digital assistant that can mimic the work your administrators do (most of the time). If after this 10-minute challenge you think there are opportunities, you can delve into the specifics later.

Here's what I recommend: Find ten minutes in your day to think about one or more of your business processes. Focus on something that is high-volume and repetitive. Don't stress about the specific flow of the process or the details; instead, ask yourself if the process is logical or rules-based. Does it consume a lot of time/resource? Does it impact revenue?  Is it subject to errors?  Are these errors costly or time-consuming to resolve?

If you find yourself answering 'yes' to the majority of these questions, then RPA could be a game-changer for your business. It's worth looking into in more detail. Consider speaking with companies that specialise in RPA to explore the next steps (like AuTech, but hey, I'm biased!).

This could be the best spent 10 minutes of your year.
